Seems like the controversy over comedian Tanmay Bhat's Snapchat video of a mock conversation between Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar is not going to end anytime soon.

Bhat, who is already facing a lot of backlash from the film industry, has faced another setback.

According to reports, Bhat's song from the upcoming movie Shorgul has been dropped.

The movie featuring Jimmy Shergill and Ashutosh Rana had a song Pehle Aap written by Bhat. The song was sung by Daler Mehndi. However, it has been axed now.

Co-producer Aman Singh confirmed the news saying that in 'light of recent happenings and prevailing sentiment among people, they have unanimously decided to let go of the song'.

From Anupam Kher and Riteish Deshmukh to Javed Akhtar and other prominent stars, several Bollywood celebrities have lashed out at Bhat over the spoof.

In an interview to DNA, lyricist Javed Akhtar went on to say that Bhat has the mind of a cockroach.

"The video is cheap and unworthy of getting any attention. The chap had not bargained for the backlash. Since he had gotten away with so much crassness in the past he thought he would get away this time. But there are celebrities. And then there is Lata Mangeshkar. You can't get away with ridiculing her."

While most of the film industry is highly offended by Bhat's video, Sonam Kapoor supported her friend's act saying,

"Dear @thetanmay, being your friend I know what you say and do is never to offend, but to make people laugh...."
